Dorie Greenspan’s new cookbook, Dorie’s Cookies, was released this week. I went through the entire thing the night mine came in the mail and I couldn’t wait to get baking! One of the recipes that caught my attention was for the French Snacklettes. Dorie received this recipe from Arnaud Larher (a Paris pastry star) about 20 years ago. The appeal to these cookies are their unconventional shapes and […]
This amazing recipe for Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies comes from America’s Test Kitchen. This recipe sets the bar high for all chocolate chip cookie recipes. There is a nice chew to these cookies and the flavor is incredible; there are hints of nuttiness from the brown butter and the chewy texture comes from the higher brown sugar-to-granulated sugar ratio.
It’s cookie season! I decided to try a recipe I had earmarked for a while now: Momofuku Cornflake Marshmallow Chocolate Chip Cookies. I read a lot of great things about this cookie, and I decided it was finally time to make some for myself.
Friends and coworkers have been busy harvesting delicious avocados lately, so I decided to try baking avocado chocolate chip cookies using these home-grown treasures. This is the Best Chocolate Chip Cookie. Ever. I have gone through a number of different chocolate chip cookie recipes, and found this one from Savory Sweet Life. This turned into my go-to chocolate chip cookie recipe. I am actually surprised that I didn’t post this recipe earlier. These cookies have nice crisp edge and a soft, chewy center. I could eat these cookies every day!
To be honest, this was supposed to be a Brown Butter, Toffee & Chocolate Chip cookie post, but I failed at making brown butter. I browned my butter, but not enough. How do I know this? After I browned my butter, I Googled what it’s supposed to look like, and it looked like I didn’t have as much brown “stuff” at the bottom of my […]
Viennese Sablés remind me of fancy butter cookies. It’s impossible to be satisfied eating only one of these cookies; who can resist a crispy, buttery, mildly sweet cookie? This recipe from Dorie Greenspan’s Baking Chez Moi, where she explains some of the different reasons why these cookies are “W”-shaped. In short, it could be either because they came from a pâtissier named Wittamer, or because of the location this […]
