It’s been a while since my last Tuesdays with Dorie post! I’ve missed that group! Trying to get back into the swing of things, I made Dorie Greenspan’s recipe for a Pear Tart with Crunch Almond Topping from Baking Chez Moi.
This week’s assignment for Tuesdays with Dorie is Chocolate-Covered Toffee Breakups. If you’re a fan of Almond Roca buttercrunch, you’ll love these Chocolate-Covered Toffee Breakups. There’s a nice buttery flavor in the crunchy toffee that complements the taste of the toasted almonds and chocolate.
This week’s Tuesdays with Dorie assignment was Tiger Cakes, or petits gâteaux tigre. I made these Cocoa Almond Meringues after seeing a picture of the ones in Dorie’s book, Baking From My Home to Yours. Her pictures featured these crinkled meringues that I could just taste in my mind, if that makes any sense. I had all of the ingredients anyway, so I figured I should make some for myself (and to share with others, of course).
