It’s been a while since my last Tuesdays with Dorie post! I’ve missed that group! Trying to get back into the swing of things, I made Dorie Greenspan’s recipe for a Pear Tart with Crunch Almond Topping from Baking Chez Moi.
It’s definitely summer! The heat has been in full force, and the summer fruits have made their presence in farmer’s markets and grocery stores! I actually baked this Summer Market Galette more than a month ago as part of a Tuesdays with Dorie post, but I missed both post dates (procrastination)! On the bright side, I’m still posting this while it’s still summer!
I can describe the Jammer Galette as a gigantic shortbread cookie with jam on top of it, covered with a layer of buttery streusel. This is another Tuesdays with Dorie assignment and the recipe for this is not very different from the cookie-sized Jammers (by Dorie) found on bon apetit.
This week’s Tuesdays with Dorie assignment was to make a Pear-Cranberry Roll-Up Tart. This recipe was fast to come together and it ended up tasting great, too!

This week’s assignment for Tuesdays With Dorie is an Apricot Raspberry Tart from Baking Chez Moi by Dorie Greenspan. Admittedly I was partly apprehensive about making this tart because a photo was not included with this recipe! This tart ended up looking very festive and having a lot of textures to it. If you like apricots, then you’ll love this tart.
I had just ordered a blowtorch and really wanted to try it out. I thought a lemon meringue pie would be the perfect recipe to use it on. Luckily, there is a recipe in Baking Chez Moi that had exactly what I was looking for!
