Snowy-Topped Brownie Drops

Snowy-Topped Brownie Drops (Brownie Cookies)

Snowy-Topped Brownie Drops are cookies with a soft and chocolatey center that any chocoholic would love. The snowy crackly tops are made from powdered sugar, which surprisingly does not add a lot sweetness to the cookies. Dorie Greenspan’s cookie recipes have just enough sweetness to them, which is something I appreciate.

I was going through Dorie Greenspan’s latest cookbook, Dorie’s Cookies, with my sister and one of the first recipes she asked me to make for her was for Lemon Sugar Cookies. I baked them the following day and they turned out great! These Sugar Lemon Cookies are not super sweet and they have an incredible crispy “shell” protecting a wonderfully chewy center. Dorie’s Lemon Sugar Cookies recipe also automatically ranks […]

Peanut Butter Change-Ups

Peanut Butter Change-Ups (Peanut Butter Cookies)

This week’s Tuesdays with Dorie assignment was making Peanut Butter Change-Ups from Dorie Greenspan’s new cookbook, Dorie’s Cookies. These are pretty much fully loaded peanut butter cookies because there are tons of peanuts and a jar of peanut butter in one batch! These cookies are soft and crunchy at the same time (the crunchiness comes from bits of peanuts), or perhaps like tiny peanut butter cakes. If […]

This recipe for Chocolate Crème Sandwiches is the first one I’m making out of Dorie Greenspan’s newest cookbook, Dorie’s Cookies with the Tuesdays with Dorie bake-along group. To me, this is like a grown-up’s version of an Oreo cookie. The cookie itself isn’t sweet, but the filling more than makes up for that!

Dorie Greenspan’s new cookbook, Dorie’s Cookies, was released this week.  I went through the entire thing the night mine came in the mail and I couldn’t wait to get baking! One of the recipes that caught my attention was for the French Snacklettes. Dorie received this recipe from Arnaud Larher (a Paris pastry star) about 20 years ago. The appeal to these cookies are their unconventional shapes and […]

Chewy Sugar Cookies

I admit that sugar cookies are not my go-to cookies. However, that was before I came across the recipe from America’s Test Kitchen. This recipe for Chewy Sugar Cookies is amazing! It produces cookies that are a little crispy on the edges, and soft and chewy in the center. It’s also very simple to make; it took me one hour to finish making about 2 […]

National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day!

Happy National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day! May 15, 2016 is National Chocolate Chip Cookie (according to Google and social media), so I decided use America’s Test Kitchen’s recipe for Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies. This recipe is pretty quick to come together (I finished in an hour) and it’s a great treat to share with others! I loved having a chocolate chip cookie for breakfast, a […]
