It’s been a while since I’ve posted a Tuesdays with Dorie assignment! One of the recipes for the month of April is Viennese Sablés. These are crisp and buttery biscuits that are just as easy to make as they are to eat, which makes these very dangerous cookies. I made these Viennese Sablés a few years […]
This recipe for Chocolate Crème Sandwiches is the first one I’m making out of Dorie Greenspan’s newest cookbook, Dorie’s Cookies with the Tuesdays with Dorie bake-along group. To me, this is like a grown-up’s version of an Oreo cookie. The cookie itself isn’t sweet, but the filling more than makes up for that!
Dorie Greenspan’s new cookbook, Dorie’s Cookies, was released this week. I went through the entire thing the night mine came in the mail and I couldn’t wait to get baking! One of the recipes that caught my attention was for the French Snacklettes. Dorie received this recipe from Arnaud Larher (a Paris pastry star) about 20 […]
If you ever get a chance to go to Honolulu, Hawaii, I highly recommend visiting Liliha Bakery and getting a box of their Coco Puffs! Their Coco Puffs are one of my favorite desserts in the world! This gloopy, messy, and delicious dessert is pâte à choux with a chocolate filling, and topped with what […]
Betty’s Chocoholic Cake was the second Tuesdays with Dorie assignment for May. This is definitely a cake for chocolate lovers. Betty’s Chocoholic Cake is comprised of three layers of fudgy brownies that are held together with chocolate ganache, and then covered with more chocolate ganache before finally getting topped off with white chocolate shavings.
Happy National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day! May 15, 2016 is National Chocolate Chip Cookie (according to Google and social media), so I decided use America’s Test Kitchen’s recipe for Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies. This recipe is pretty quick to come together (I finished in an hour) and it’s a great treat to share with others! […]
Soft-Centered Chocolate Teacup Cakes are Dorie Greenspan’s fancy title for Molten Lava Cakes. It also happens to be my Tuesdays with Dorie assignment for this week. These Soft-Centered Chocolate Teacup Cakes were easy to make (especially with a stand mixer) and they tasted delicious!
This recipe for Chewy Brownies is another winner from America’s Test Kitchen! The goal, at least for me, was to make brownies from scratch that at least matched my favorite box brownies. Needless to say, these brownies were outstanding and there is no need for me to buy brownie mix anymore. These brownies ended up […]
Chocolate dipped strawberries are plentiful this time of year so I decided to mix things up just a little bit and make Strawberry Mousse in Chocolate Cups. This strawberry mousse is nice and light, and pairs very well with bittersweet chocolate (and a little bit of lemon whipped cream on top).
One of this month’s Tuesdays with Dorie assignments is making Hot Chocolate Panna Cotta from Baking Chez Moi by Dorie Greenspan. This was given the name “Hot Chocolate Panna Cotta” because it reminded Dorie of a hot chocolate she had from a Parisian cafe. I thought I knew what this meant after reading her description of the recipe, […]
